Put your Qantas membership on Parental Leave

Going on parental leave? Now your membership can too.

Qantas understand the importance of families, especially when there’s a new addition on the way! So while your family may be changing, it doesn’t mean that your membership status has to as well.

Status Hold is our new family-friendly benefit that allows eligible Silver, Gold and Platinum members to put their status on hold for up to 18 months.

And the great thing is, you can still continue to earn Qantas Points and Status Credits as you usually would during this time. Plus, Gold and Platinum Members can still enjoy lounge access too!

Who is eligible?

Status Hold is available for parents who are taking at least six consecutive months leave from paid employment to spend time with their family. Both parents can apply. You may be eligible if you are:

  • A parent of a baby or babies that are due to be born within the next three months or were born in the last six months
  • A foster parent who will be caring for a child within the next three months or who has started caring for a child within the last six months
